Starkey Ranch students attend one of two nearby A-rated elementary schools - Odessa Elementary or Longleaf Elementary - depending upon the neighborhood in which they live. All students are currently assigned to River Ridge Middle School and River Ridge High School, both of which have earned the Five Star School Award, recognizing exemplary levels of family and community involvement in the school environment. River Ridge Middle School is the only middle school in Pasco County to earn the distinction for the 2016-17 school year, as announced in January 2018 by the Florida Department of Education. As Starkey Ranch grows, Pasco County has plans to fund and build a brand new K-8 school adjacent to our Whitfield Park neighborhood.
Plans call for a gymnasium, athletic fields, a running track and sport courts, all of which will be available during non-school hours to Starkey Ranch and Pasco County residents, through a shared-use agreement with the school district.
A public library and theater are planned next door to the school, along with extensive recreation facilities in the Starkey Ranch District Park. The school site is located at the intersection of Long Spur and Lake Blanche Drive, just east of the District Park.
