Falling in love with Starkey Ranch is easy to do. Just ask some of the Realtors who brought clients to see the community and ended up buying new homes for themselves.
“Starkey Ranch is a winner all-around,” says Kristy Thurber, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker F.I Grey & Son, who now calls Starkey Ranch home. “It really sells itself and offers everything a family would want. I’ve had two sales in Starkey Ranch, and my clients love it. My family does, too.”
Kristy, her husband Matt, and their two kids, Chase and Madison, enjoy the open areas to explore, bike rides and seeing all the wildlife that comes with living adjacent to the 18,000 acre J.B. Starkey Wilderness Preserve. “My kids are always at the parks, and meeting new friends. If someone wants to know what it’s like to live here, stop and ask one of the residents – no one sells this community like a neighbor.”
“You see it all around you, the conservation and nature,” says Scott Crossland, a Realtor with La Rosa Realty, who moved to Starkey Ranch in May of 2016. “My wife, Beth, told me she couldn’t believe we didn’t stop here first,” he says. “Other communities just don’t have that same feel, that same ‘punch.’”
Nature is everywhere at Starkey Ranch, with about half of the community’s 2,400 hundred acres dedicated to parks, ponds, lakes and woodlands. Both Kristy and Scott agree that many buyers want the natural Florida beauty and open space that exists at Starkey Ranch.
“We stopped in to the Welcome Center and had a great overview of what the community is all about-- the amenities, the parks, the programming,” Scott added. “My wife is looking forward to joining the Zumba classes. It was really a no-brainer to buy a new home here based on the value and price point of the community.”
